Step 2/7 Browser Requirements

Enable Java

You should have installed Java during the first section of this cd. If you have not, then please follow this link to install it. eSchool requires that you have the Java Runtime Environment installed on your machine as it uses Java chat within the eCampus. For further details about Java technology please visit the Sun Microsystems website.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5

  1. Click on Tools from the menu bar
  2. Select Options from the dropdown menu
  3. Select the Content tab
  4. Check the Enable Java option
  5. Click OK to save the settings

Mozilla Firefox 1.0x

  1. Click on Tools from the menu bar
  2. Select Options from the dropdown menu
  3. Select the Web Features tab
  4. Check the Enable Java option
  5. Click OK to save the settings

Internet Explorer 6.x

  1. Click on Tools from the menu bar
  2. Select Internet Options from the dropdown menu
  3. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to Java (Sun)
  4. Check the box next to the Use JRE for applet (requires restart)
  5. Select the Security Tab
  6. Press the Custom Level button
  7. Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets
  8. Select the Enable radio button
  9. Click OK to save the settings
  10. You may need to re-start your machine for these settings to take effect

Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Click on Tools from the menu bar
  2. Select Internet Options from the dropdown menu
  3. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to Java (Sun)
  4. Check the box next to the Use JRE for applet (requires restart)
  5. Select the Security Tab
  6. Press the Custom Level button
  7. Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets
  8. Select the Enable radio button
  9. Click OK to save the settings
  10. You may need to re-start your machine for these settings to take effect

Netscape 8.x

  1. Click on Tools from the menu bar
  2. Select Options from the dropdown menu
  3. Click Site Controls from the options in the left hand box
  4. Select the Site List tab
  5. On the Web Features menu check the Enable Java checkbox
  6. Click OK to save the settings

Netscape 6.x - 7.x

  1. Click on Edit from the menu bar
  2. Select Preferences from the dropdown menu
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Check the Enable Java checkbox
  5. Click OK to save the settings
